Highlights: A ski-touring paradise with magnificent mountains, amazing glaciers and high altitude huts - the Tasman, Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers in New Zealand's Mt Cook and Westland National Parks offer endless possibilities for alpine skiing. There are many options available for this trip depending on weather, snow conditions and other interested clients. Some options are:

Tasman & Murchison Glaciers: For intermediate skiers the Tasman Glacier (NZ's longest) offers many runs of gentle gradient. Hochstetter Dome, an easy beginners' mountain, can be climbed from here. For the more advanced skiers the Murchison Glacier and its tributaries as well as the Darwin and Bonney Glaciers offer many rewarding ski runs.

Godley Glacier: The Godley Glaciers are a Wilderness Area and are not accessible by plane. This area offers skiers both moderate as well as steep and challenging terrain.

Skiing near Caroline Hut: For those with limited time or budget a trip to Caroline Hut is an option for expert skiers, subject to safe snow conditions.

I learned a lot about ski mountaineering and gained a lot of confidence in my abilities. I felt that Gottlieb rated my abilities and pushed me to a new level. Everything very professional and safe. Thank you.
